Natural extra virgin olive oil is one of the indispensable items in the kitchen. Extra virgin olive oil, which is one of the first options that comes to mind when it comes to healthy oils, attracts attention with both the high amount of nutrients it contains and its health benefits. Therefore, it is one of the oils that experts recommend to be consumed.

This olive oil, which is produced naturally, is used in many areas, from salads to meals. It adds an extra flavor to every dish and appetizer it is used in, and ensures that they are prepared in a healthy way.

What Does Extra Virgin Olive Oil Mean?

Natural extra virgin olive oil; These are oils obtained entirely by mechanical methods, without any chemical treatment. Therefore, it is considered the purest, highest quality and healthiest type of olive oil. Since it is produced away from chemical processes and high temperatures, its nutritional value is very high. In addition, its taste and aroma are natural.

The most important feature of these oils is that they are produced without chemical treatment or heat application. Although chemical treatment and heat increase the amount of oil obtained from olives, they negatively affect the quality, aroma and nutritional value of the oil. In this context, natural extra virgin olive oil stands out as the ideal option for those who want to consume quality, high nutritional value and natural olive oil.

The properties of this oil, obtained by mechanical and natural methods from the fruits of the olive tree, known as the immortal tree, are listed below:

  • In their production, pressure is applied only by mechanical methods. Therefore, it is produced without exposure to chemicals and high temperatures.
  • The purity level is high. It does not contain any additives.
  • Natural extra virgin olive oil has an acidity rate of 0.8% or lower. Acidity is one of the most important features of this oil. Therefore, it differs from other olive oils by its acidity.
  • It has an intense fruity aroma. Depending on the type of olive, it may also have a slightly bitter taste.
  • Their nutritional value is high. It preserves its nutritional values because it is not exposed to chemical processes and heat.
How to Make Extra Virgin Olive Oil?

There are different methods preferred for olive oil production. Nowadays, with industrialization and consumption increasing, high heat and chemical methods are used to obtain the highest amount of oil from olives. However, these methods reduce the quality and nutritional value of olive oils.

Natural olive oils are produced by mechanical methods to preserve naturalness, quality and nutritional values. In this context, olives are first collected and brought to the facilities in air-permeable sacks without being exposed to the sun. Afterwards, the rotten and damaged olives are removed and production is made only from healthy olives.

Healthy olives are squeezed mechanically at temperatures below 27 °C. Olive oils obtained as a result of mechanical pressing are not refined and no additives are added. The produced oils are bottled under suitable conditions and made ready for consumption.
